Rotary in Action

Voice of 3230
26th Dec 2004, little did anyone realize that the Christmas Celebrations is going to be short-lived when the Tsunami disaster struck giving the worst trauma to remain a scar even in the memories of those not directly affected. “ The Tsunami waves victimized millions just by a touch. Rotary deciphered millions of ways to touch their lives.” Rotary 3230 did not stop with just immediate action of relief by providing medicines, food and clothes and relief kits but provided shelter kits imported from UK to the neighbouring districts too.
Today even after providing fiberglass boats installed with motorized engines, life jackets, nets and specially designed refrigeration tanks. RID 3230 has stepped further ahead by adopting five villages, constructing community centres, public health centres and schools in these five villages and to top it all has embarked on the task of educating fishermen on advanced technologies in fishing and land sea communication skills with overseas tie up. The commendable continuity in this hi tech service towards Tsunami rehabilitation has inspired voluntary contributions from the corporate world too.
